Install Couchbase in Ubuntu 13.04 EC2 Instance

Take these steps to quickly install Couchbase 2.2.0 in Ubuntu server 13.04.

Go to http://www.couchbase.com/download. Copy the link for the 32bit or 64bit Ubuntu distribution. Then download the package. For example, this will download the 32bit version:

wget http://packages.couchbase.com/releases/2.2.0/couchbase-server-enterprise_2.2.0_x86.deb

Install couchbase:

sudo dpkg -i couchbase-server-enterprise_2.2.0_x86.deb

This should start the server automatically. To verify that server has started:

cd  /opt/couchbase/bin

Then run:

./couchbase-cli  server-info  -c localhost
